Pregnancy Massage can greatly reduce the stress on the mother-to-be during this time of physical, physiological and emotional changes. Massage can help reduce musculoskeletal pain associated with weight gain and postural shifts (particularly in the neck, upper and lower back, hip and gluteal regions). Regular massage treatments can also reduce swelling and leg cramping by improving lymph flow, reduce sciatic pain through gentle stretching and enhance sleep. These treatments are similar to Deep Tissue massage but involve unique positioning to allow the client to relax on their side or supported by special cushioning. (Prior to your massage, please consult with your physician to confirm it is appropriate to receive massage at this point in your pregnancy and/or consult with us when booking your session.) This style can be utilized in 30, 60, or 90 minute sessions for $40, $70, or $90 respectively. These increments reflect the amount of time you are actually on the table receiving treatment, so please allow extra time for discussion and paperwork. What to Expect: Your first session will include discussion and paperwork to determine your reasons for seeking massage therapy, your current and past medical history, and the goals you want to achieve through your treatments. You will be asked to remove clothing to your level of comfort. Undressing always takes place in private and you will be covered by a sheet and/or blanket at all times. Only the part of the body that is currently receiving treatment will be undraped to ensure that your modesty is always respected. You will also have a choice of music, lotion/oil, and temperature to ensure the most peaceful and relaxing atmosphere for you. Please note these prices reflect a discount for service paid at the time it is rendered with cash, check, credit card, or gift certificate. Our full price for massage is $20 per 15-minute unit. |
