Your first session will include discussion and paperwork to determine your reasons for seeking massage therapy, your current and past medical history, and the goals you want to achieve through your treatments. All sessions after that will include a brief verbal check-in before your massage to update us on your current conditions.
For the Swedish, Deep Tissue and Pregnancy massage, you will be asked to remove clothing to your level of comfort. Undressing always takes place in private and you will be covered by a sheet and/or blanket at all times. Only the part of the body that is currently receiving treatment will be undraped to ensure that your modesty is always respected. You will also have a choice of music, lotion/oil, and temperature to ensure the most peaceful and relaxing atmosphere for you.
For Hot Stone massage, the information above applies. However this treatment also involves the application of jojoba oil and very warm basalt stones, which will raise your body temperature, so this should not be received if you are pregnant or are undergoing chemotherapy or radiation, or if you have high blood pressure, an acute injury (less than 48 hours), a skin condition, a depressed immune system, or loss of sensation in any body part.
For Reflexology treatments, there is no need to undress since the therapist is only working on your hands, feet and head.
Overall it is very important to speak up to your massage therapist at any time during your treatment if anything is uncomfortable, such as temperature, pressure, positioning or areas to focus on or avoid all together. These details are so easy to adjust or accommodate and we want you to feel as relaxed as humanly possible. We always appreciate your feedback and want to make the most of your time with us!
