Group Hypnotherapy Class
October 10, October 24, November 14, December 12
Four Thursday evenings from 6:00 to 7:30 pm
When you have tried lots of things, but you find that you still have a nagging, underlying habit or thought pattern that is dragging you down, chances are that there is something buried in the subconscious mind that is holding you back. Hypnotherapy is one of the most powerful, and effective, ways to clear out the negative thoughts/beliefs/patterns/habits that we just can't seem to shake.
When experiences at a young age get sealed into our minds (via the Inner Child), the protective Ego part of our subconscious mind devises ways to keep us safe. These ways can manifest, over time, as harmful coping mechanisms. And in spite of our good intentions and setting all kinds of goals, until we get to the root of the issue, we will find these habits are still in place. Giving our Ego/subconscious some new tools (through the power of positive suggestion) in hypnotherapy, can be life-changing!
For the first time ever, Rachel Horton White of Soulful Work Consulting be offering a group hypnotherapy class. You will enjoy four hypnotherapy sessions that are specifically tailored, in part, to what you are experiencing in your life. In addition, you will learn some powerful writing tools to help you further separate from the negative patterns held in your mind. This class is limited to 8 people to maintain an intimate vibe and be a safe space for you to share what you are feeling and struggling with in a small group.

Quieting the Mind Series
June 13, June 27, July 11, July 25, August 1, August 22, August 29, September 12
Eight Thursday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 pm
We live in a world with unprecedented levels of stress and worry. We worry about money, our relationships or our jobs. Often these worries are based on a past experience that we re-play like a bad song stuck in our heads. The same patterns tend to occur in our lives until we can change the associations in our brains. The number one best way to do this is by developing a regular meditation practice.
Before you think "I can't do meditation" or "Meditation doesn't work for me," consider that meditation practice can change your life. It associated with decreased levels of psychological distress, such as less anxiety, anger, depression and worry. Studies have found that the brain actually changes with meditation.
This Quieting the Mind Class is an opportunity to get support from a like-minded group of people and from Rachel Horton White of Soulful Work Intuitive Consulting who seek to invite peace, quiet and a sense of presence into their lives. We will meet 8 times over 2 months, as it takes about this amount of time to create new habits! The series will cover the following topics:
• Breath as Foundation
• Body Scan/Progressive Muscle Relaxation
• Mindfulness of Emotions
• Mindfulness of Thoughts
• Mindful Walking and Stretching
• Working through Resistance
• Working with Energy
• Opening Intuition and Connecting with Higher Guidance

Managing Stress through the Subconscious
Sunday January 13 3:30 - 5:00 pm (Snow Date January 20)
The holidays can be a significant source of stress, feelings of overwhelm and obligation. During this time of year and throughout our lives, many of us experience constant stress coming at us from all directions – in the workplace, from information overload of the electronic age, from our financial situations and even from some relationships with others. And even though smartphones have increased our feeling that we are getting more done, our levels of stress have steadily risen each year since smartphones came on the scene in the early 2000s (APA, 2017). 79% of Americans report feeling stress regularly (Gallup, 2017) and an average of 83% of visits to the doctor are due to stress-related ailments. Stress damages not only the mind, but also the body: 43% of adults suffer negative health effects from stress (WebMD, 2017).
The good news is that we can change our automatic, “fight or flight” responses to stress by re-training our brains and changing our neural pathways. One of the best ways to do this is by re-programming the automatic negative thought patterns in the subconscious mind. In this workshop on hypnotherapy, you will learn how hypnosis can be an incredibly effective way to reduce stress and bring about increased wellbeing and peace in all areas of life.
Join Rachel Horton White of Soulful Work Consulting to:
- Experience a hypnotherapy session to induce deep relaxation and change stressful thought patterns to calming, new thoughts
- Learn tips on how to bring about more calm and balance in your life through mindfulness and breath
- Practice flipping “automatic negative thoughts” thoughts that feel better with a powerful writing tool
You will leave this workshop with:
- a new sense of hope and peace
- “thought reframing” tools you can use in any moment of your life
- calming thoughts embedded into your subconscious mind!
$10 per person. Sliding scale available (no one will be turned away due to lack of funds). Please register in advance here as there is limited seating available.

Free Yourself: Moving What's Stuck with Energy and Oils
Sunday September 10 5:30 - 7:30 pm
Have you ever felt stuck? Like you just couldn’t move beyond some actual limitation or circumstance? We all carry emotional information, often from past experiences, in our chakras. This energy can block us from achieving our goals, from feeling joy and happiness, or from manifesting the kind of life we long to live. Clearing the stuck energy is can free us dramatically from health and life issues in amazing ways! And essential oils serve as an additional tool to retrain old emotional patterns via the brain’s limbic system and the olfactory (smelling) senses; they work beautifully with the chakras.
The seven chakras are centers in our bodies through which energy flows. Chakras hold memories energetically. An imprint of every important or emotionally significant event you have experienced is recorded in our chakras. Clearing from our chakras past energies which no longer serve us in our lives, from experiences, memories and persistent thoughts or emotions we wish to release, can alleviate physical pain, emotional distress and free us to make the changes we want in your lives. Each chakra works with the organs that surround it, and each has specific energetic / emotional issues they govern.
To discover how to clear old emotional information out of your chakras and free yourself from your past, we invite you to join us, Cheryl Horton and Rachel Horton White (we’re not related, believe it or not!) In this class, Cheryl will also take us through a short EFT Tapping session to help us set our intentional breathing before Rachel takes us into a healing Chakra Meditation with colors, light and Archangel energy. During the meditation, Cheryl will apply to your wrists, temples and ankles Certified Pure therapeutic grade essential oils to help release any negative energy you may be carrying in specific areas (oil application is optional!). With all of these tools, you will enhance your connections with your spirit/angelic guides potentially to receive intuitive guidance for your daily life. We will then do a writing reflection on processing the emotions that came up, and shift toward enhancing and creating the feelings and thoughts that we wish to bring more into our lives. Information about each oil and how it impacts your energy and chakras will be provided, with Cheryl supplying the oils and providing directions for their application.
How to Protect Your Energy: For Sensitive People in a Busy World
Wednesday September 20 5:30 - 7:00 pm By Donation, suggested $5-20
Many of us are noticing how much we are picking up energy from our environment and from others around us these days. Sensitive people especially may be feeling this. It can show up as unexplained sadness or anger that seems to come from nowhere. I have personally seen people become debilitated who are extremely empathic (or clairsentient). If you find yourself becoming exhausted by being around other people, or feeling unexplained emotions that don’t seem to be your own, then this is probably you.
We can learn to better protect, ground and clear ourselves from absorbing the emotions of others around us.
It can take some discipline to start doing this, but once it’s a habit, it becomes easier. In this workshop, you will learn tools for grounding my energy and clearing anything you want to release including:
- Protecting yourself with a bubble of golden light and only allowing love to enter there
- Asking Archangel Michael to help cut any cords of attachment
- Spending time outdoors, and placing your hands and bare feet on the earth
- Calling energy back into your crown chakra
- Taking salt baths to absorb negative energy (this one is particularly effective)
- And more tools, visualizations and habits!
In this workshop, you will learn practical ways in your everyday life to protect yourself, as well as to clear if you have absorbed lots of energy already. We will:
- Do a guided meditation and powerful visualization
- Do a writing reflection to set intentions to remember to carry this forward into your life
- Verbally process what you experience in pairs
MOVEMENT THAT CALMS THE MIND - An Anti-Stress Workshop
with Jane Burdick, Certified Feldenkrais® Practitioner
Tuesday September 26 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Who isn’t stressed these days? When we’re stressed we vacate our bodies in favor of our thinking minds without really noticing. Without our bodies truly on board, stress builds, aches and pains
persist, and injuries are more common. We may have thoughts about our bodies but the actual experience of being embodied is something else, something that can actually ease our minds and
invite right action.
Come and learn what slow movement with deep attention can do for you. You will absorb, and will be able to count on, a few movement sequences that will be available to you even in rough
times. These movements don’t require special abilities, equipment, or clothes. They are designed for everyone to improve, function with more efficiency, and not get carried away by stress. Body and mind are inseparable, so calming and integrating movement patterns is working with the neuroplastic
brain and influences all we feel, sense, think and do.
Learn more about Jane and register for this workshop by mailing a $50 check to Jane Burdick, 50 Gray St., Portland, ME 04102.
Release Your Subconscious Blocks Around Money
Thursday November 16 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm
Subconscious beliefs around money can block us our energetic vibration and our ability to receive abundance in our lives. Many of us hear or experience limiting beliefs about money in childhood. These beliefs can morph into stories about there never being enough, guilt, or actually resenting money in our lives. As a form of energy, money is a way to exchange goods or services. Sadly, in our country, the system of money has also been much manipulated to cause suffering among many. Yet, we can learn to take back control of money in our lives, and "flip the switch" on our perspective.
Join Rachel Horton White of Soulful Work Intuitive Consulting to learn to develop a perspective of receiving, and of abundance. You will learn to dig into any subconscious beliefs/stories you may be carrying about money, and develop an awareness of when these thoughts surface in everyday life.
Join us for:
- conversation around energetic vibrations, and Divine laws about receiving and giving in the flow of abundance
- a guided meditation to release money blocks
- a visualization and writing exercise to begin to align with a new vibration of your ability to receive abundance
- a learning of practical tools (and take-home handouts) you can carry with you in your everyday life
Pay what you can! Suggested donation of $10-30. Please register in advance by clicking here! (Pay $30 or use coupon codes 25FORME, 20FORME, 15FORME or 10FORME to pay $25, $20, $15 or $10). Practice using the energy you have to give through money as an exchange for what you feel you will receive.
Finding Stillness In Any Moment
Sunday December 17 from 4:00 to 5:00 pm
Finding the time to quiet our minds is not only a nice thing to do, it can be essential to managing our emotions, energy and worries/doubts/fears (which can block us in many ways). The practice of quieting the mind (aka meditation) can help you re-wire your brain so you learn to let go of negative, self-defeating (and very subconscious) thoughts.
Join Rachel Horton White of Soulful Work Intuitive Consulting to enjoy a guided meditation to find stillness, and learn practical tools to begin quieting your mind in any mundane moment throughout your busy days. Take-home handouts provided.
Thursday April 12 5:30 - 8 pm $65
We all have this little voice inside of us that tells us all kinds of mean things about ourselves. Why we’re not capable, why we are never going to make enough money, that we are not likable, that we should worry about what people will think, why we should do something or shouldn’t do something else. It is the negative aspect of our Ego self, a falsely-created identity that society has helped to created. It is born in childhood and is strengthened something an adult (usually a parent) says or does that has a lasting effect. Often it is an innocuous comment, but it can cause deep self-doubt. As we grow older and go out into the world, this negative Ego self grows stronger and evolves into the voice of an Inner Critic.
When we take the time to dissect this Inner Critic and identify when its comes out in our lives, we can see it for what it is. We will do writing exercise that personifies the strongest Inner Critic voice as if it were a person and then separates from it.
In this workshop, you’ll receive detailed teachings from Rachel Horton White of Soulful Work Intuitive Consulting about this Ego self (Inner Critic), as opposed to the Higher Self (our soul). In our massive shifting into our true, light-filled selves, we are being asked to shed the layers of ego. This is one of the most important, and hardest, parts of our evolving into the spiritual beings we truly are.
To allow for more personalized guidance, this workshop will be limited to 10 people. Learn more here.
Thursday May 10 5:30 - 7:30 pm $25 - $45
We all have tried setting goals, making resolutions and creating new habits. Why does it seem so difficult to stick to them? This is because we are only dealing with the conscious mind. We can set all the goals in the world, but if our subconscious mind presents with any resistance, blocks or pre-existing doubts, then none of our efforts will have lasting effects. It is when we access the subconscious mind that we can begin to break down old habits and create new ones. And there are several powerful ways to do this: with guided imagery and neuro-linguistic programming.
Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) is an incredible way to implant new thoughts and transform behaviors. Through visualization and creating new associations, the techniques in NLP can be life-changing when used consistently. We can learn to re-program our behavior by creating a new visualization associated with a positive habit/behavior replacing a negative one.
In this workshop led by Rachel Horton White of Soulful Work Intuitive Consulting, you will:
Experience two guided imagery exercises to create new associations
Learn and practice two Neuro-linguistic programming techniques to use anytime
Do a short writing reflection
Share in pairs (optional– people joining virtually will be able to do this as well!)
Come prepared with a goal or a desired behavior/habit change you seek. This should be a goal over which you have control (you can take action steps to reach). If you have several goals, just choose the one that is speaking to you most today.
This workshop can be accessed virtually as well – it will be live-streamed!
Learn more here for additional details and registration links.
